Awe, so many awesome contemps coming out this month! :D Can't wait! :D

I'm not sure which one is my favourite out of all the contemporaries I've read, but I think if I had to pick, I'd say The DUFF by Kody Keplinger or Two-Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt. I love both of them so much! :D

Thanks for this awesome giveaway, Evie! :D

I don't read many Contemporaries, so the one book I've been recommending for over a decade (literally!) is The Unlikely Romance of Kate Bjorkman by Louise Plummer. But everyone who has read it because of me also came back raving about it, so it must be a good pick. =)

It's about an awkward, nerdy girl who falls in love with her brother's best friend over one Christmas. And because she loves literature, she narrates the story in a way that sends up the Romance genre. The whole effect is really fun, and she has a great cast of characters and a wonderful setting (Minnesota in the winter) to boot!

'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green was amazing. It proved to be very emotional for me.

Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park and you should read it because it's a sweet, heart-wrenching little book that doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves! :)

laceyblossom said...

The Fault in Our Stars is my absolute favorite! The characters are amazing and hilarious, especially Augustus! *swoon* And the book is so heart-wrenching as well. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time throughout most of the book!

Ellisa said...

Well, I don't read many contemporary so my knowledge is kinda limited, but I do enjoy some of them! Like, well, probably you've read it already, Anna and the French Kiss plus Lola and the Boy Next Door. I love both of them! (Well, I love the former the most) because it's just, so fresh, and romantic. The recent one that I read it Beautiful Disaster, and I only gave it 3 stars though, because of the issue of the book itself :D

I have developed such a fierce love for Contemporaries within the last year or so, that I cannot stop reading them. I've been drawn to wonderful authors like Sarah Dessen, Deb Calleti, Jennifer Echols, and many more. One of my favorite of the contemps that I read last year and review was Lauren Barnholdt, Sometimes It Happens. :)

My very favorite contemporary fiction novel is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green; such an absolutely incredible (and heartbreaking) book!! Coming in second, though, would probably be Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. Both the characters and the plot are so absorbing and emotional!

SusieBookworm (Susanna) said...

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I just finished reading The White Darkness by Geraldine McCaughrean- AMAZING contemp read!! It actually won some nice awards when it came out just a few years ago, but now very few people seem to have read/heard about it. Awesome adventure story with very quirky/somewhat insane characters...

Ooh, sorry. Wrote a comment before I saw your blog post comment in the rafflecopter.

My current favorite contemp reads are:

Lola and the Boy Next Door. Beautiful writing and overall enjoyable. The characters are real and really funny!

AND

Someone Else's Life, by Katie Dale
It deals with a hard subject (Huntington's Disease.) it's sad, but beautiful.

Veronika said...

I love contemporary books so much! I read mostly YA contemporary books, and I have a few favorites (sorry I can't choose just one xD):
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephenie Perkins - it's a fun read, amazingly written with lovely characters.
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally - one of my favorite books!! It's not an usual girl-meets-a-hot-boy-and they're-getting married type of story, it's about true friendship and love! Must read!
Also I really enjoyed The perfect Chemistry Series by Simone Elkeles Úthe boys are hot xD) and Sing Me To Sleep by Angela Morrison (this book made me cry like a baby, I was sad for days after reading it xD)

Kelly said...

I read A love by any measure. It was graphic but a story that couldn't leave you. I felt all these emotions and had to get Kleenex several times. I love it when an author can make you feel all kinds of emotions.

Kulsuma said...

You should read Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins because it was such a heart-wrenching love story.

SweetShenanigans said...

Blue is for Nightmares is an amazing book; I highly recommend it for those who like YA suspense. It's very well written, even though I wasn't a fan of the ending of the series.

Abby said...

I liked Seven Up by Janet Evanovich!

Tasnim said...

I love Beautiful Disaster because of all the angst :)

The Story Queen said...

Eeee, ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE? Yikes. Hmm, probably Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins or If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I'm sure you've read both of them already but... For LOLA: it's sweet and charming and just leaves you with the biggest warm feeling after reading. For IIS: I don't know, something about that book just got to me. It was all aching and honest and I related SO MUCH.

Thanks for the giveaway, Evie! :)

I've only just started to read contemporary, but my favorite so far is Paper Towns, or anything by John Green :)

Sana said...

My absolute favortie contemporary book is Take Me There by Carolee Dean. It brings up a chock-full of emotions and it is a road trip book.

I love reading road trip books because they are as much about the progress of the story as they are about the growth a character goes through. And let me tell you this, Dylan Dawson goes through a lot of that.

Kristie Matheson said...

I'm just getting into contemporary reads, but I'm excited to read most of these.

I would say probably Anna and the French Kiss, because the story takes place in Paris, the main heroine is easy to like, the love interest is hot as hell thanks to his american-british-french origin and mainly because the fact, that the book deal with some more than just simply romance and love.

My favorite contemporary fiction novel is Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. The character is easy to relate to, and the way the story is told is great. I don't want to say too much about the book because I don't want to give the plot away, but this is a must read book if you haven't already.

Thanks so much for this giveaway! My favorite contemporary romance book is This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. Dexter and Ruby are an incredibly real, adorable couple. I love how goofy and hilarious Dexter is and how Ruby complements him by being his more serious half. I love how the book just reminds me of summer, and it's such a light read with realistic undertones. I love rereading this book every summer because of how adorable it is. I definitely recommend it. It's one of my favorite Sarah Dessen books of all time.
