Andy Parker is a war widow raising her fifteen-year-old daughter on her own. Hayden Grace dreams of becoming a professional snowboarder, and Andy is doing everything she can to make that happen. When Hayden Grace’s passion begins to falter, Andy is at a loss for how to re-inspire her daughter.

Andy does her best balancing Hayden Grace’s competition schedule, practice, and school with her own work schedule at home, in the city, and on the mountain. But work starts to demand more from Andy. Then, Andy receives an opportunity of a lifetime. An opportunity that will turn their lives upside down. But is it too good to be true?

Soon, mother and daughter find themselves in Aspen for Hayden Grace’s first national competition when a chance encounter brings Andy into a passionate, unexpected romance, a romance that could change everything. Will Andy be able to find the happiness she deserves?

It had been six years, but it still felt like yesterday. It was a day that will always be etched into my memory.
The second I opened the door and saw their faces, I knew. The notifying officer and chaplain introduced themselves and escorted me to the sofa. They spoke a lot about honor, service and country--I don't remember the details, but I do remember when the officer reached over ad put his hand on my arm, and said "he died saving a life."
By Sunday evening we were both excited and exhausted. We weren't sure what exactly we were in for, but we couldn't wait to find out.

Andy Parker lost her husband to the war six years ago. She is now a single mom to a 15 year old daughter named Hayden Grace. Hayden Grace dreams of becoming a professional snowboarder and Andy is prepared to sacrifice anything to make her daughters dreams come true. Andy teaches ski lessons but also is in marketing and she does her best to juggle Haden Grace's schedule with her crazy one of working, dating and making every single competition her daughter competes in.

The relationship that Andy shares with her daughter is heartwarming and refreshing. They seem to work well together, ignoring the occasional disagreement where Hayden ignores Andy for hours at a time. Just your typical teenage girl. Andy isn't easy on Hayden Grace. Her husband left a set of rules that he thought Hayden Grace to follow and Andy has done her best to raise Hayden Grace the way her husband would have. Sometimes the rules don't make much sense to Hayden, but for the most part she follows them to the tee.

Hayden Grace is now in a big snow boarding competition in Aspen, and Andy ends up meeting Paul yet again a famous snow boarding competitor and falls hard. Now she isn't sure what is real and what isn't. She isn't sure if the job offer she got from a prominent figure in the clothing world is a good idea and she has a lot of decisions to make in a short time frame.

I just adored this book. I felt the mother/daughter relationship was done perfectly and it really made me think about the relationship I share with my daughter. This novel is beautifully written with the perfect combination of family issues and romance. Andy Parker is a great protagonist to read about because she is flawed. She messes up. She could be anyone of us and that makes this story all the better. Hayden Grace starts off as a typical 15 year old girl but quickly surprises you with her intelligence and responsibility.

This is T.S Krupa's second novel and I hope we will be reading many more novels from her with the same emotional connections achieved in this one.
